Juan Valverde Barboza. BRG (Born September 13, 1959 – Passed away December 20, 2017) Our dear Papa, our great hero! We write these words to remember you as the great man you were, to thank you immensely for allowing us to grow by your side, protect us, and educate us as you did./funeral_lead_font]
You demonstrated that a person should not easily collapse. When you got the terrible news, you clung to life, fought until the end. This marked us forever. But we know that you are no longer with us because that’s how God wanted it, not because you didn’t fight.
You can’t imagine how proud of you we are. You just can’t imagine the great void your departure left. That is something we still haven’t fully grasped, and how could we? You brought joy wherever you were! How to forget those jokes and laughter full of health that seemed to indicate that everything was fine, those calls like “Let’s go get ice cream!” or “Brew me some coffee, I’ll go get the bread!” On any given day while everyone at home was asleep, you would get up and just said, “Get ready because we’re going for a ride!. You’d better hurry.” You never told us where we were going. We could just go for coffee or maybe end up at the beach, so the swimsuit couldn’t be missing. We can almost hear you on weekends with your friends saying, “Greetings to table 55!” and so many other things, making it impossible not to shed tears and our hearts shattered into a thousand pieces.
But you know, Dad, there’s something that helps us calm down, and that is knowing that you are already with God, where there is no more pain, and we know that right from there you always watch over us—our angel!
Here on earth, we are eternally grateful to God for you; we will love you forever. Thanks again for being a great husband, father, son, grandfather, and brother…
Dad, we will love you forever, a kiss and an immense hug from here to heaven!
“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die, and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.”
John 11:25-26
